Mike has a half-century of farming experience in Southern Ontario. For 2 decades, he and his wife ran a 150 sow farrow-to-finish operation along with a small cow-calf herd finishing 200 cattle per year. This was augmented by a 700-acre cash crop operation along with a 100 dairy goat herd.

Mike has also served as a member of Arthur Township Council from 1980 to 1988 as well as Vice Pres. of the Wellington County Federation of Agriculture. In 1986 Mike became interested in farm real estate and helping young families get started in farming, and joined Royal LePage. Since then he has been instrumental in farm sales in Wellington, Perth, Dufferin and Grey Counties. Mike has won many awards for his professional service and high volume of sales. In 2003, Mike was one of the 10 top selling agents in Western Ontario and is currently a Director's Platinum award winner as one of the top 5% of Royal LePage sales representatives in Ontario.

In 2000, Mike journeyed to England and Holland to meet with farmers there wishing to immigrate to Canada. Since then Mike has made over 15 trips to Europe and has been working extensively to organize a platform for new citizens to begin farming in Canada. Relationships have been developed with immigrant services, moving consultants, financial consultants, legal and accounting services.

Doug Jack, B.A., LL.B, was born and raised in Fergus and continues a family-tradition of providing legal services in his community and beyond. A graduate of St. Jerome’s University, Waterloo, Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario, he was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1985 and has been in private practice since that time.

Mr. Jack has focused primarily on commercial and business law matters while still maintaining an interest in providing consumer law services such as personal estate planning. His specific interests are evidenced in the leading roles he plays in the delivery of legal services to the veterinary and agriculture sectors and his attention to matters relating to family businesses generally.
